The Ingleside PTO Executive Board has established the Teacher of the Month Award. This monthly recognition is given to a current Ingleside teacher who is going above and beyond for our children. Teachers are nominated by other teachers.
DECEMBER: JENA KRAHL The Ingleside PTO Teacher of the Month for December is Jena Krahl. Mrs. Krahl teaches 8th grade Science and is the Athletic Director. Mrs. Krahl has been a leader at Ingleside since her arrival on campus in 2003. A graduate of Graceland University with a BS in Biology, Mrs. Krahl also earned her National Board Certification. She has won the Arizona Middle Level Association Teacher of the Year and the Scottsdale Charros Educator of the Year.
Mrs. Krahl was nominated by her peers for the PTO Teacher of the Month award. Her peers describe her as a mentor and the "go-to" person for almost any issue that arises on campus. She was described as having the superpower of human strength, being a great teacher, co-worker and friend.
As the "go-to" for many of her peers on campus, Mrs. Krahl has earned the phrase of "Get Krahl." Whenever there is a situation where a teacher needs help or advice or an answer to a difficult situation, the default is "Get Krahl!" There is no doubt that the Ingleside community is lucky that we've "GOT KRAHL!"
NOVEMBER: ANDREA BLANCHET
The Ingleside PTO Teacher of the Month for November is Andrea Blanchet. Miss Blanchet teaches 6th Grade Language Arts.
She was nominated by her peers who describe her as equally beneficial to the Ingleside teachers as she is to the students. Miss Blanchet has taken a new assessment program and become the expert with it. She has met with many teachers individually to train them and to be a go-to source for ongoing questions. She puts significant time and energy to her planning and implementation of her lessons. She has proven to be able to incorporate fun yet challenging strategies to meet the needs of her students. She is known for her ability to collaborate with other teachers and to try new things if it could benefit her class.
In the nomination, her colleagues said, “Miss Blanchet takes the time to get to know each and every one of her students and makes those personal connections.” She is described as Rockstar. As the PTO, we agree!
